Smith & Wessen M&P Shields were the best selling handguns in 2016 and 2015 in America and of those the 9mm topped the list. At under $400, they're crazy affordable. At .92-inches wide, they're easy to conceal.

They weigh a sweet 20.8 ounces, light enough to carry all day, but just enough heft to shoot comfortably (but as the video says, they're a little snappy). They have great sights, pinky pads, and there's a huge after market for holsters, triggers and sights. They also now come in a blizzard of varieties from FDE frames to Crimson Trace lasers to performane porting and night sights.

But how do they hold up after a year or two and a 1,000 rounds or so. Not so bad, it turns out. Check out this progress report video.
